Man, 20, charged with murder after woman, 18, found dead in Hunter Valley
A 20-year-old man has been charged with murdering an 18-year-old woman whose body was discovered by police in a Maitland home.
NSW Police said they believed the pair were known to each other.
In a statement, NSW Police said officers from the Port Stephens-Hunter district found the woman's body inside a home on Galway Crescent in Maitland, in the lower Hunter Valley, around 1.30am Saturday.
The woman is yet to be formally identified.

Police spoke to the man outside the home. He was then arrested and taken to Maitland Police Station, where he has since been charged with murder.
He has been refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Sunday.
A crime scene has been set up around the home, with officers from the State Crime Command's homicide squad assisting with the investigation.
