MTDC to introduce ‘Medical Wellness Tourism’

Pune: The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has decided to conduct a ‘wellness medical tourism’ program once all resorts re-start. Organic food on special demand, Panchakarma from experts and Ayurvedic treatment facilities will be provided to tourists.

Due to lockdown, people cannot step outside the home. The pandemic has made situations in other countries perilous. Therefore, there are very little chances that tourists from India will travel outside the country once things are normal. Considering such a scenario, the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation has decided to make some extra facilities available for tourists in the state. Accordingly, planning is done by the corporation.

The state’s tourism development corporation is set to implement ‘wellness medical tourism’ program in resorts at Mahabaleshwar, Malshej, Lonavala and other 23 resorts in the state. Therefore, tourists will be able to enjoy natural food too.

The Managing Director of Tourism Corporation Abhimanyu Kale has ordered officers and workers of the corporation to provide the best service to tourists by an increasing number of restaurant and arranging food packages, conferences, group tours, etc. The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation has informed that they will be trying to provide service at the minimum cost.

Considering the domestic tourists, the state tourism development corporation will be providing information about tourism-related facilities, food materials, natural places, local games, local tradition, cultural programs, flora and fauna and plans regarding their security to tourists on their official website.

The Regional Manager of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, Deepak Harane said, “The workers of the corporation are keeping area and rooms clean in such difficult times. Tourist accommodations are getting repaired and also disinfectant spraying is done. The care of tourists’ health will be taken and system for measuring body temperature as well as sanitiser spraying will be placed.
