Pakistan violates ceasefire in Hiranagar sector of Jammu & Kashmir

Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing on Saturday along the international border in Hiranagar sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistani troops have violated ceasefire along the international border in Hiranagar sector of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on Saturday morning.

According to the inputs, Pakistani rangers resorted to unprovoked firing and shelling along the international border in Kathua district, J&K.

Earlier at about 5:10 am, a Pakistani spy drone was shot down by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Pansar, Kathua district.

Weapons were also recovered from the Pakistani drone that was shot down on Saturday.

On Friday, Pakistani troops violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in Tangdhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir by firing mortar shells towards Indian positions, Army officials said.

"On 19 June 2020, in the evening hours, Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation (CFV) along the LoC in Tangdhar sector by firing mortars and other weapons," the officials said.

They said the Indian Army gave a befitting response to the violations.
