Stuart Baxter says he will recommend South African players to Odisha FC, having been appointed as head coach to the Indian Super League side on Friday.
Baxter, who has coached Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United in the PSL and South Africa on two occasions, last coached Bafana Bafana before resigning in August last year.
He has signed a two-year contract with Odisha FC and says while he is looking forward to developing Indian talent, he will also cast his eyes back to South Africa as he looks to build his squad.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Baxter said: "There could be some South African on my hit list. If I have got a lot of young players, which is who I will be working with in India, then I need players that I know.
"So Scandinavians and South Africans will probably be on the list and one or two others that I will recommend."
Baxter noted that Odisha, formerly known as Dehli Dynamos, are highly ambitious.
