Coronavirus (COVID-19) in India Latest updates: COVID-19 cases in India again witnessed record spike in cases with 14,516 new cases on Friday. The total number of cases now stands close to 4-lakh, behind Russia in worldwide tally. The number of active infections as on Saturday morning stood at 168,269. The rate of recovery in India is also steadily increasing, with 213,831 recoveries. Total cases in India now stands 395,048 at including 12,948 deaths.

On Friday, in a big relief to the common man in Delhi, Amit Shah-led Home Ministry announced fixing rates charged by private hospitals in Delhi for isolation beds, ICUs without ventilator support & ICUs with ventilator support. Committee recommended Rs 8,000-10,000, Rs 13,000-15,000 and Rs 15,000-18,000 including PPE costs for isolation bed, ICUs without and with ventilator respectively to all hospitals, ANI reported.

12- day lockdown has started in Chennai and three other districts of Tamil Nadu from Froday. Chennai’s neighbouring districts Chengalpet, Kancheepuram and Thiruvallur  are also under lockdown in the wake of rising in cases of COVID19 in Tamil Nadu’s capital.
