Sada locality is micro containment zone

Vasco: The state administration has declared ward-4 of the Mormugao municipal council at Headland Sada as a micro containment zone after over 10 COVID positive cases were reported in the area in the last couple of days.

All the entry and exits points to the ward have been cordoned off following the declaration of the area as the micro-containment zone.

Ward-4 councillor Damodar Kaskar said that COVID positive cases were not reported in the area, initially. But swab samples exposed the vulnerability of the locality to the virus, which has now panicked the residents. 

Arrangement has been made for throat swab collection at Rose Circle Stadium, and extensive sanitisation of the ward has been undertaken. 

It has been claimed that the COVID cases in the ward are linked to Mangor Hill, which is a containment zone in Mormugao taluka.

Health authorities have already begun to collect swab samples of the people living in the area.
