The central government had released a package of Rs 1.7 lakh crore under the PM Garib Kalyan Yojana to help the economically weaker people in the Corona era. Under this, it was announced to deposit an amount of 500 rupees for three months in the account of more than 20 crore women account holders of Jan Dhan Yojana. In April, May and June, the amount was transferred to the accounts of women and now its period is over.
However, the question is whether the government will provide the help of women in future or not? So far no such message has been given by the government nor any official comment has come.
However, in this regard, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that if the situation does not improve, then some more help of the poor can be considered. But so far no statement has been made about the Jan Dhan Yojana.
At present there are 39.04 crore Jan Dhan account holders in the country, who have deposits of Rs 1,31,339.59 crore. The central government has released about Rs 30,000 crore in bank accounts of more than 20 crore women. Apart from this, cylinders have also been provided free of cost under the Ujjwala scheme.
