Gurgaon: The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (
GMDA) is in the process of developing a mobile application which will serve as a one-stop solution for all information related to
Covid-19 facilities for both residents and the administration, officials said.
While the metropolitan authority already has a portal — HRHeal — bringing together doctors, patients and Covid testing labs, the new app will also help in collecting and analysing data of Covid patients in the city.
According to sources, Gurgaon does not yet have a Covid-19 database, which is making it more difficult for the authorities to contain the spread of the virus.
The application, which has already been developed and will be launched soon, is expected to benefit residents, administration and frontline workers alike, officials said. A senior GMDA official said residents can get all the information about Covid-19 healthcare facilities in the city via the app.
“This will include details of Covid-19
hospitals in the city, the availability of
beds, testing centres as well as telemedicine options,” the official said.
The app will also have an option for frontline workers, where they can enter the details of Covid patients while carrying out surveys. “This option will be applicable for Asha workers and other medical professionals who are collecting and recording information of all Covid-19 patients in Gurgaon,” the official said.
This data will be collated and shared with the health department and other government bodies as well. GMDA’s integrated command and control centre will analyse the data.
“The data analysis will help us spot Covid hotspots in the city and keep a track of the profile of patients in terms of their age and gender,” said the official.
GMDA is awaiting data of past and existing Covid patients and containment zones in the city from the district administration, which has to be fed to the app for it to be functional. Asked when the app would be made available, the official said: “While we can’t give the exact date of its launch as of now, the app will go live soon for sure.”
