Thane: Drunk driver hits couple on pavement

THANE: Two pedestrians, Raju Das (43) and Sumati Das (40), were grievously hurt after being knocked down by a car in Thane late Wednesday evening. The injured were taken to a private hospital.
Senior inspector of Chitalsar-Manpada police station, Jitendra Rathod, said, "The driver, Peshahu Sarkar (32), an Andheri resident, was drunk. He has been arrested.
The police said that the woman has hurt her head while both of them have leg injuries.
