A liquor lover forked out $53,000 on 50 bottles of premium whiskey from a Dan Murphy's store in just two days.
Matt Loth, whiskey expert at the store in Mermaid Waters on the Gold Coast said serving the customer - who wishes to remain anonymous - was the 'highlight' of his career.
He said the man was new to the store but was a well known 'whiskey enthusiast' and simply loved to spoil his friends and family.

'He said he likes to have world-class whiskey always available and he really loves to spoil friends and family with great tipples. He was such a gentleman!' Mr Loth told Daily Mail Australia.
'He was new to the store, and had heard through word of mouth that the Mermaid Waters Dan Murphy's is one of only 15 'whiskey precinct' stores in Australia, which means it has a wide range of premium whiskey.
'He decided to come in and have a look, and was really thrilled with the range we have.'
The whiskey lover had bought two bottles of Pappy Van Winkle's, which is one of the most expensive American bourbons on the market.
The Pappy Van Winkle's 23 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon sells for $3,450 a bottle, while the Pappy Van Winkle's 20-year-old sells for more than $2,150 per bottle.

He also bought the Teeling Whiskey 30-year-old Single Malt, which retails for $3,000 per bottle, Balvenie 26 year old 'A day of Dark Barley' Single Malt Scotch Whisky for $990 per bottle and Eagle Rare Single Barrel 17-year-old Bourbon for about $900 per bottle.
Mr Loth said the customer's purchase was the largest sale the Mermaid Waters store had ever seen.
'It wasn't so much the monetary value of his purchase that made this the highlight of my career,' he said.
'I'm a whiskey lover myself, so connecting with someone who was just as passionate made it such an exciting and infectious moment.'
Earlier this year, a Sydney whisky enthusiast snapped up a $150,000 bottle at a Dan Murphy's in Double Bay.
The customer bought a bottle of the Macallan 72-years-old in Lalique - the most expensive bottle of spirits ever sold in the retailer's history.
