The investigation into the death of Bollywood star
Sushant Singh Rajput has taken a new turn with the Mumbai Police now seeking a copy of the actor’s contract with production house,
Yash Raj Films (YRF). The police have written to the brand, asking for a copy of the contract which was signed between
YRF and the ‘Kedarnath’ actor, according to a
PTI report.
"Keeping in view the
professional angle, police have started calling some prominent production houses for inquiry. As part of that, police on Thursday sent a letter to Yash Raj Films, seeking details of all the contracts it had signed with the deceased actor," a senior police officer was quoted as saying by PTI.

"We have also asked for the copies of the contracts that Yash Raj Films had signed with the actor," he added.
In the subsequent days, the Mumbai Police might also reach out to those who had played an important role in the signing of contracts between the actor and the production houses.
The development comes after Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had tweeted on Tuesday that the ‘professional rivalry’ angle will also be probed by the Mumbai Police in connection with the death of the ‘PK’ star. Throughout his career spanning almost a decade, Rajput had worked in two YRF films - ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ in 2013 and ‘Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!’ in 2015.
Earlier, it was reported that the actor had bagged a three-movie deal with YRF that is owned by Aditya Chopra. It had also bankrolled Rajput’s film with Shekhar Kapur, ‘Paani’, which was announced at Cannes but was eventually shelved.
So far, the Mumbai Police has recorded the statements of over 13 people, including Rajput's family members and close friends like actor Rhea Chakraborty and casting director Mukesh Chhabra.
On Thursday, actress Rhea Chakraborty admitted that she had a fight with the late actor. She also revealed that the two had planned to marry in November.
