Following the violent clash between India and China in the Galvan Valley of eastern Ladakh, the two countries have halted the withdrawal of their troops from there. Divisional military commanders from both sides are negotiating in the Galvan sector, but intelligence reports suggest that the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) may have retreated on June 6 according to the de-escalation matrix set by core commanders on both sides.

This has been completely clarified and experts are also saying that after deliberating the India-China standoff at Petroling Point 14 (Galvan), Petroling Point 15 (Kongka La) and Petrolling Point 17 (Hot Springs) It may also take weeks to resolve. The ongoing dispute over Pangong Tso may take even longer to resolve.

However, some positive signs are surfacing in eastern Ladakh, such as the Chinese PLA Air Force not conducting any fighter plane operations on Thursday night. Simultaneously both armies followed the rules of the border. Strict adherence to set military protocols by both armies has reduced the likelihood of any dispute.

The situation seems to be normal after the violent clash on 15 June, but the PLA has still made preparations. It has deployed combat aircraft, weapons, and missile support systems in Jinjiang and Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).

The PLA Air Force has activated its Jinjiang and TAR bases from where its fighter aircraft were seen flying at night in the Aksai Chin area. The PLA's basic plan is to push the Indian Army back into eastern Ladakh.

A section of the Indian Army establishment was enthusiastic about the talks on June 6 to ease tensions, but Indian diplomats and intelligence officials said the most important thing is that the PLA follow it on the ground. People familiar with the case reported that China was not showing any signs of ending the deadlock without achieving its political objectives.

The Chinese military made clear its offensive intentions after Indian Air Force S-30MKI aircraft took off near Pangong Tso Lake in May amid increasing tension between the two countries. The PLA started deploying surface-to-air missile batteries and armed drones in the Aksai Chin region.
