Watch The $1.1 Million Nissan GT-R50 By Italdesign In Official Launch Film

If you had tickets to the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, then you were probably excited to get a detailed look at the Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign, as it was originally scheduled to premiere at the Swiss event. However, the coronavirus pandemic threw a wrench in those plans and forced the two companies to rethink the presentation.

They eventually chose to debut the production model it at the Tazio Nuvolari racetrack in Cervesina, Italy, last month. We’ve seen pictures and a live stream from the car, but now it’s time to watch the official launch film too.

The film shows the GT-R50 in its natural element, going from apex to apex to prove that it has it – or that it never lost it in the first place, as it is after all, a re-bodied Nissan GT-R, and this is one of the oldest cars in the market being on sale since 2007. Besides the unique looks, it’s offered with several personalization options and comes with reworked suspension, upgraded brakes, special wheels and a few other unique features.

It also packs the same oily bits as the regular Godzilla, namely the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6, which was tuned by Nismo to produce 710 HP (720 PS / 530 kW), or 110 HP (112 PS / 82 kW) more than the GT-R Nismo.

Production is capped at only 50 units, and with a starting price in the region of $1 million, the GT-R50 by Italdesign is a car for the upper crust, who will take delivery of the first batch sometime between the end of 2020 and early 2021.
