In early trading on Thursday, shares of Advance Auto Parts topped the list of the day's best performing components of the S&P 500 index, trading up 4.2%. Year to date, Advance Auto Parts has lost about 7.2% of its value. And the worst performing S&P 500 component thus far on the day is H & R Block, trading down 9.5%. H & R Block, Inc. Is lower by about 30.5% looking at the year to date performance.
