Springbok loose forward Nizaam Carr, who is on his way to join Jake White's Bulls, has posted an emotional farewell message to English club Wasps.

Carr has been at Wasps since 2018 having enjoyed a long and successful stint with the Stormers before then, but now he is on his way back to South Africa to join the men from Pretoria. 

In an Instagram post, Carr expressed his gratitude to Wasps. 

"During my time at the Wasps I’ve learnt so many lessons," he wrote.

"These lessons has [sic] groomed me and helped me become my own. I’ve learnt to live in the moment and appreciate those around me because without knowing things may change and you won’t have the opportunities you once had and you won’t be surrounded by people you once were.

"Looking back now, the gym sessions that I dreaded, the endless scrums and line out drills that we did as a team, mean so much to me because it gave me team-mates and memories that I will cherish forever.

"Knowing now that I’ve only had two years with the Wasps made me see that time is precious and to enjoy it no matter my mood or energy level."

Carr, who is 29, has been capped five times by the Boks.
