
HPBOSE 12th Result 2020 LIVE Updates: The Himachal Pradesh Board, HPBOSE declared the result of class 12 exam today. Out of 86,633 candidates who appeared for the exams this year, 65,654 students passed. The state recorded 76.07 passing percentage, which saw a significant improve as compared to the previous term.
Prakash Kumar from Kullu Science School of Education emerged as the leading scorer of the state and Science stream. He fetched a total of 497 marks, which evaluates to 99.4 per cent.
The students can check their results at hpbose.org. “This year, the number of male students supersede that of female students, 43,410 male in comparison to 42,898 female students. A total of 325 students did not appear in the exam,” chairman Suresh Soni told indianexpress.com.

The class 12 result was announced on the basis of four exams that could be conducted. The marks of the fifth elective subject was marked proportional to the highest grade scored in the four subjects for which the exams had been conducted. For internal and practical subjects for the same paper, the candidates were graded as per the marks obtained in the school.

If any student is not satisfied with his/her marks, they can opt for re-evaluation. The board has not made any announcement in this regard and any updates for the same can be accessed at the board's official website - hpbose.org.
The board declared the results without conducting the pending Geography paper. HPBoSE stated that the grade for the Geography paper will be awarded in proportion to the highest marks received on the previous four exams. Meanwhile, the practical marks for the same will be given on the basis of marks obtained in the school.
The state had witnessed a significant drop in the performance since 2016. However, this time the passing percentage improved by a whopping 14.06 percent as compared to the previous year. In 2019, the state had recorded only 62.01 passing per cent, while it was 69.67 and 72.89 in 2018 and the year before.
The girls have outperformed boys students scoring 80 pass percentage. Out of the 43,410 male candidates, only 72.40 per cent could clear the exam.

Prakash Kumar, who fetched 99.40 per cent, emerged as the leading scorer in the science stream. Meanwhile, Shruti Kashyap with 98.20 per cent scored the highest marks in Arts and Meghna Gupta stood as the topper from the commerce stream with 97.6 per cent.

Shruti Kashyap from Govt Girls Senior Secondary School, Shimla has topped the class 12 exam with 491 marks (98.2 per cent)
A total of 65,654 students cleared the class 12 exam successfully this year out of 86,633 candidates appeared. The pass percentage touched at 76.07 per cent.
Last year, a total of 62.01 per cent students cleared the exam successfully. The same has been declining since 2016.
Last year the servers crashed as nearly one lakh candidates were trying to access their result. Hence here is the list of websites to check your result from, hobose.org, hpresults.nic.in, indiaresult.com. While the result might be available elsewhere too, but no other website is official.
The pass percentage is on decline since 2016. While most expect a reverse trend this year, here is look at the last years' pass percentages

To check the result, candidates need to keep their admit card also known as hall ticket handy. In order to check the result, students will be asked to use their roll number. Only after submitting the relevant details will one be able to check their scores.
Medical: Pranjal Rana from Dhameta Govt Sr Secondary School (Kangra)secured 489 marks out of 500.
Non-medical: Sahil Kattna from Bagwara Govt Sr Sec School, Vikrant Rewal from Ungh Sundernagar Vardhaman Mahavir Public Sr. Secondary School (Mandi) topped the examination by securing 490 marks out of 500
Commerce: Inder Kumar from Sarahan Govt Sr. Sec School (Sirmour) by securing 483 out of 500
Arts: Akshma Thakur from Sujanpur Tihra MSC Sr Sec School by securing 479 marks out of 500
The Himachal Pradesh Board of Secondary Education came into existence in 1969. At present, more than 8000 schools are affiliated with the same. The Board has set up 1650 examination centres throughout the state. The Himachal Board also publishes textbooks for classes 1 to 12.
