The death toll from the outbreak in India is at 12,237. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief ministers will be holding video conference today.
Globally, there have been over 83.2 lakh confirmed cases of COVID-19. At least 4.48 lakh people have died so far. The United States, Brazil, Russia, India and the United Kingdom are the most-affected countries.Read More

Singapore on Thursday confirmed 257 new COVID-19 infections among foreign workers, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 41,473.
The new patients include four community cases, including one permanent resident (foreigner), the health ministry said. The other three are foreigners on work passes. The rest 253 cases are also foreign workers living in dormitories. The total coronavirus cases in Singapore now stands at 41,473. (PTI)

Nine more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Mizoram, taking the northeastern state's tally to 130, Health Minister Dr R Lalthangliana said on Thursday. South Mizoram's Lawngtlai and Siaha districts have reported four new cases each while one case was reported from Lunglei district, he said. (PTI)

Coronavirus in Kazakhstan LIVE updates | Ex-president of Kazakhstan infected with virus
The ex-president of Kazakhstan is infected with the new coronavirus. His spokespeople say Nursultan Nazarbayev, 79, tested positive for the virus and remains in isolation. There are no reasons for concern, the statement said.
Nazarbayev, who had ruled Kazakhstan since its independence in 1991, stepped down last year but continues to wield considerable influence as chair of the country's Security Council and leader of the ruling party Nur Otan. (AP)

The Supreme Court Thursday stayed this year's historic Puri Rath Yatra starting from June 23 and related activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A bench of Chief Justice S A Bobde and Justices Dineesh Maheshwari and A S Bopanna said that in the interest of public health and safety of citizens, this year's Rath Yatra at Puri in Odisha can't be allowed. The Chief Justice said that Lord Jagannath won't forgive us if we allow this year's Rath Yatra to go on, as such a huge gathering can't take place during the pandemic. (PTI)
Coronavirus in Tripura LIVE updates | Forty-three fresh COVID-19 cases were reported in Tripura, taking the northeastern state's tally to 1,138 today, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said.
All but four new patients are from different battalions of the Border Security Force (BSF), he said.
Deb tweeted late on Wednesday night, "43 people found COVID-19 positive out of 1,250 samples tested. Majority of them have travel history and others were in contact of COVID-19 patients. Among them: 3 from 34 Bn BSF, 6 from Maharani BSF Camp, 4 from 120 Bn BSF, 26 from 74 BN BSF, 4 civilians." (PTI)
Coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh LIVE updates | Indore records 57 new COVID-19 cases; tally rises to 4,191
With 57 persons testing positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the case count in Madhya Pradesh's Indore district has gone up to 4,191, a health official said today. At least 2,266 samples were tested on June 16, of which reports of 57 persons came out positive for the infection, the official said.
Three persons, including a 76-year-old woman, had succumbed to the infection in the district, he said, without divulging the exact dates of these casualties.
The COVID-19 death toll now stands at 185 in the district, he added.
