THANE: The Bhiwandi-Nizampura civic body has imposed a 15-day lockdown starting Thursday to curb the rising cases of Covid-19.
Civic chief Dr Pravin Ashtikar said that only essential shops, government offices and banks will remain open.
To restrict movement, internal roads will also be closed.
