India wins a non-permanent member seat at the UN Security Council. India has secured this seat for two years after winning 184 votes in the 193-member general assembly. India was the candidate for a non-permanent seat from Asia-Pacific category for 2021-22 term. India’s candidature was unanimously endorsed by the 55 members of the Asia-Pacific grouping in June 2019.
