The 2021 Nissan 400Z Should Look Just Like This

Hot on the heels of Nissan teasing the long-awaited 400Z, designer Guillaume Lerouge has used the teaser to render how the new sports car could look.

The Japanese car manufacturer briefly teased the exterior design of the 400Z in a promotional video previewing a bunch of new Nissan models last month. That teaser confirmed the car will have a retro-inspired design and this rendering helps to bring that design to life.

The first aspect of the 400Z’s design worth discussing is the overall shape of the car. It will feature a long hood and a short decklid while also sporting a steeply-angled roof much like classics including the 240Z and 280Z. Unlike the new Toyota Supra which many people believe is over-styled, the 400Z’s design appears much simpler and is all the better for it, as Lerouge’s design shows.

Located up front will be a set of oval-shaped headlights as well as a large front grille. This rendering also shows the sports car with a sharp and aggressive front bumper. It has also been imagined with sporty 10-spoke wheels and aggressive rear haunches.

This isn’t Lerouge’s first time imagining what the new 400Z will look like as back in April, he partnered with Thibault Vandemoortele and created an even more striking modern-day interpretation of the 240Z.

It is understood the new sports car will use Infiniti’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine rated at 400 hp. This power will be sent through the rear wheels and it is claimed that both a dual-clutch automatic transmission and a six-speed manual will be offered.
