Court nod for Dhullu to cast vote in RS polls

Sindri: The court of Dhanbad sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) Shikha Agrawal on Wednesday allowed BJP’s Baghmara MLA Dhullu Mahto to vote in the Rajya Sabha election based on his letter submitted to the court by the jail authorities.
The court observed that voting is the Constitutional right of the MLA and directed the jail administration to take him to Ranchi in police custody and bring him back the same day after voting. The polling for Rajya Sabha seats will be held at the Jharkhand assembly building on June 19.
On Monday, the court had rejected Mahto’s petition for a provisional bail to take part in Rajya Sabha polls.
