FALL RIVER - Fall River is reporting six new cases of coronavirus, for a total of 1,549, and one new death, for a total of 90.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 36 new COVID-19-related deaths across the state Thursday, bringing the state's total to 7,770.

In addition, state health officials reported 271 new confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases, bringing the total to 106,422.

DPH recently began reporting both confirmed cases and probable cases. Of the new cases reported Thursday, 72 are probable. Meanwhile, 13 of the newly reported deaths fell into the probable category.

The key indicators that the state is using to guide reopening continue to go down. The seven day average positive test rate is 2.3%, down from 9.2% a month ago; the three-day average of hospitalizations is 1,004, down from 2,508 a month ago; the three-day average of deaths is 28, down from 83 a month ago.

As of June 17, weekly data shows that 88,725 Massachusetts patients have been released from isolation, meaning they are considered to have recovered from the virus.

In addition, COVID-19 hospitalizations in Massachusetts dipped below 1,000 this week for the first time in months. The total hospitalizations Thursday was 968, down from 1,260 a week ago. The number of ICU cases was 227, down from 296 a week ago. And the number of intubations was 125, down from 181 a week ago.

Charlton Memorial Hospital is reporting 28 cases, with 9 in the ICU; a week ago they had 52 cases, 12 in the ICU.

Morton Hospital has 10 cases, 2 in the ICU; a week ago, the numbers were the same.

St. Luke's Hospital has 13 cases, with 1 in the ICU; a week ago they had 37 cases, with 9 in the ICU.

Saint Anne's continues to have zero patients with coronavirus.
