Covid-19 claims four more lives in Thane; toll mounts to 167

THANE: As many as four fresh deaths have been reported taking the virus toll to 167 in Thane, Tuesday evening, even as 112 fresh positive cases were added to the city tally that has touched 5,415 till date.
Among those detected positive is a male intern with the Rajiv Gandhi medical College at Kalwa. "The intern was assigned the role of collecting swab samples of covid suspect patients at one of the quarantine centres. He was given adequate safety gears but it is surprising to note he tested positive," said a senior civic official.
Meanwhile, officials said the maximum number of cases have been reported from the Kalwa estate area where nearly 17 cases have been identified on Tuesday while Naupada zone added 16 to its count.
