SKMU dy registrar suspended post arrest

Dumka: Vice-chancellor of Sido Kanhu Murmu University (SKMU) Sonajharia Minz suspended deputy registrar Shambhu Prasad Singh on Monday after he was arrested by the CBI on June 13 for his alleged involvement in the 2008 JPSC appointment scam.
Singh is a part of the 69 persons accused in the scam for illegally appointing different officials and lecturers against vacancies at different universities of the state. University sources said the deputy registrar was suspended with effect from the date of his arrest in accordance with the general conditions of service as mentioned in the Jharkhand State Universities Act, 2000.
Sources also added that the axe may soon fall on another official and 10 lecturers appointed by JPSC in 2008, who are still serving in different constituent units of SKMU notwithstanding the filing of the chargesheet against them by CBI after it took over the case in 2012.
The arrest warrant against Shambhu, who happens to be the brother of former JPSC member Gopal Prasad Singh, also an accused, was procured by CBI three months back, but could execute it owing to the lockdown.
