Three with Covid-19 die in Ghaziabad, Noida sees 27 new cases

NOIDA/GHAZIABAD: As many as 27 people were found positive for Covid-19 in Gautam Budh Nagar on Tuesday, taking the number of cases here to 1,038 — of which 500 are active.
Meanwhile, the death toll in Noida rose to 13 after a 29-year-old man from Sector 57 died on Monday morning. According to the health department, the Covid-19 patient died due to cardio-pulmonary arrest at Sharda Hospital where he was admitted.
The Covid-positive patients include 16 who were reported from private labs, 11 from government labs. Also, 18 were ILI patients, 2 were SARI patients while 7 were contacts of other positive patients.
Meanwhile, Ghaziabad reported three deaths due to Covid-19 on Tuesday. Also, 45 persons tested positive for the virus. This is the highest number of positive cases to be reported in Ghaziabad in a day.
A 71-year-old woman from Nehru Nagar died at Safdarjung hospital on May 24. After her death was cross-notified, she was added to Ghaziabad’s tally on Tuesday. A 48-year-old man from Nyay Khand died on Sunday at Santosh hospital and a 40-year-old woman from Vijay Nagar died on Monday at Meerut’s LLRM College on Monday.
Besides, there were reports of a doctor from Kaushambi to have died in Delhi on Tuesday and an elderly person from Indirapuram succumbing to the virus in a private hospital on Monday. However, the health department denied having information about them so far.
