Odia director Susant Misra’s Hindi movie, Josef - Born in Grace, has been nominated in four categories at the Madrid International Film Festival. It has been nominated for Best Foreign Language Feature Film, Best Director of a Foreign Language Feature Film, Best Supporting Actor and Best Set Design, the last two also in foreign film categories. While Sudarshan Juyal is nominated for Best Supporting Actor, another Odia Sukant Panigrahy is the set designer of this film.
Informing about the news, Misra said that the festival is scheduled to be held from August 1 to 7 this year in Madrid, Spain. This film had earlier won Silver Remi at World Fest Houston and was in the Oscar contention list for Best Picture at the 2020 Academy Awards. It has also visited several international film festivals across the globe.
The movie boasts of several acclaimed artistes and technicians who have won National Film Awards and international awards earlier for their work in several films. “Josef - Born in Grace is an adaptation of a short story, Joseph, written by Umakanta Mahapatra and is set in the Himalayas in India between 1960 and 1980,” informed the filmmaker.
