Nagpur: BJP corporator, seven held in gambling den raid

NAGPUR: The crime branch sleuths raided a gambling den in south-west assembly constituency in Nagpur on Tuesday late night and arrested eight gamblers, including senior BJP corporator Pravin Bhisikar and superintendent of a government hospital.
Acting on a tip-off, the crime branch unit raided a flat at Atre Layout in Anand Nagar under Bajaj Nagar police station and caught eight persons red-handed.
The police have also seized Rs 10,200 cash, three four-wheelers and two two-wheelers worth Rs 19 lakh from the spot. A case under relevant sections of the Anti-Gambling Act was registered and further probe was on, senior police inspector and incharge of the crime unit Vinod Chowdhary said.
