Lucerna Tower building in Noida comprising 64,000 sq ft over three floors into a 200 bed isolation/quarantine ward for Covid-19 patients in the district.
“We have set up a 200-bed L1 quarantine facility at the TCS premises in Noida sector 125. Work commenced in the second week of May and we will hand over the hospital facility by June 18 to chief medical officer (CMO) GB Nagar for further operations," said Rajib Mondol North India head TPL.
All patients with fever and
ILI symptoms will be kept here till their test results are awaited.
The building which was taken on lease for TCS to operate its IT projects will now operate as an
L1 Covid hospital following the CSR drive of the Tata group. The hospital comes equipped with all infrastructure such as beds, furniture, mattress, lockers and storage to operate like a fever clinic along with stretchers wheelchair, stethoscope, and infrared thermometers with MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) ventilation, weighing scale, crash cart and 350 litre refrigerator etc.
With this, the district now has five L1 hospitals, other four being 250 bed
Noida Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), 100 bed Kailash Hospital, 30 bed Community Health Centre (CHC) Bisrakh and 900 bed Bennett University Greater Noida.
Rahul Shah COO Tata Projects Urban Infra says, "As the global community, including India faces challenges with regards to the fight against Covid-19, TPL has leveraged its construction and engineering expertise towards strengthening the nation’s healthcare infrastructure where we’ve augmented hospital infrastructure with 2,954 beds at multiple locations across India to treat patients."
While TPL is also completing work on 168 bed L2 Covid facility in sector 39 Noida to be handed over by June end, the facility will include 20 ICU beds, 10 HDU beds, 130 isolation beds and eight emergency beds.
Another centre in UP where TPL has provided a similar facility is in Gonda. "We are setting up facilities for a total of 124 beds here which will include 10 ICU beds, 10 HDU beds and 104 isolation beds," said Ravishankar Chandrasekharan vice president Tata Projects overseeing all work and one who has refurbished several hospitals in Mumbai.
