BATHINDA: Four police personnel, the
frontline warriors were tested positive in Bathinda on Wednesday. The two are male personnel while the other two are female police personnel. Apart from them, another male who had returned from
Faridabad too tested positive taking the positive count for the day to 5.
Mearly 50 cops who came into contact of the four policemen have been asked to go for quarantine.

Nanak Singh said “as one of the female cop was posted at Women Police Station, the entire staff has been sent into quarantine. New SHO will be deputed here and the
police station is being sanitised. One of the positive cop was posted at Vardhman police post and department is on contact tracing. The two others were posted at Cantt and Civil Lines Police Stations but were deputed in the field duty and had not gone to police stations for last many days".
The total active cases in Bathinda now have gone to 7.
The five close contacts of a Ferozepur based railway official, having passed away on Tuesday, tested positive on Wednesday. The official had tested positive few days ago and was admitted at a Ludhiana hospital where he breathed his last on Tuesday. The 5 from his close contacts now have tested positive. Contact tracing and screening was being done by health officials.
The three persons tested positive in Moga district on Wednesday. The two women and one migrant labourer, having come from Bihar has tested positive., The three have been sent into isolation and department is on contact tracing, said assistant civil surgeon Dr. Jaswant Singh.
In the meanwhile, 13 persons belonging to closely related families of Kotkapura town of district Faridkot were discharged from Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Faridkot on Wednesday. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences vice chancellor Dr Raj Bahadur applauded those being discharged and asked them to maintain covid protocols.
