Share market update: Bank shares mixed; Axis Bank rises 2%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading on a mixed note in Wednesday's session.

Shares of Axis Bank (up 1.76 per cent) , IDFC BANK (up 1.41 per cent) , RBL BANK (up 0.84 per cent) , State Bank of India (up 0.64 per cent) , Punjab National Bank (up 0.3 per cent) , IndusInd Bank (up 0.26 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 0.11 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Bandhan Bank (down 1.57 per cent) , HDFC Bank (down 0.84 per cent) , Federal Bank (down 0.32 per cent) , Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.28 per cent) and ICICI Bank (down 0.15 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.11 per cent up at 20319.75 around 11:54AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 2.10 points at 9916.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 12.78 points at 33618.0.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 24 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SBI, BHEL, Axis Bank, PNB, RBL Bank Ltd., IDFC First Bank Ltd., Bank of Baroda and IndusInd Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
