AHMEDABAD: The Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam (BAPS) Swaminarayan Sanstha, which runs about 1,100 temples across the world, has decided to keep them closed till June 30.
"We will review the situation on June 30, and decide about re-opening the temples," said Sadhu Vivekjivandas of BAPS.
Ahmedabad's famous 'Camp Hanuman' temple is likely to re-open on June 30, said Parthivkumar Adhyaru, one of the trustees at the temple. He said that the re-opening of the temple will depend on many factors including changes in government guidelines and the prevailing situation.
The temple falls in Army cantonment zone that has been shut down in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.
"The health and safety of jawans is our primary concern and we do not want to put them at risk of being infected with Covid-19 by the temple visitors," said Adhyaru.
