HYDERABAD: Telangana workers employed in Saudi Arabia are unable to return to India though their company has come forward to operate special flights to fly them to Hyderabad. This is because they reportedly have not got landing permission.
Expertise Contracting Company Ltd in Al Jabail arranged special flights to Chennai, Mangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Kochi and workers could be sent back to their homes. In all, the company has reportedly arranged 12 special flights.
“When the workers asked the company why they were not being sent home like others, they were informed that they had not got permission from the Telangana government to land in Hyderabad. The flight would be allowed to land as the special flight has been organised by the company itself to send the workers home,” social worker and MBT spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan said on Tuesday.
He urged union external affairs minister S Jaishankar, union civil aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao to help out the workers as they had been stuck in Saudi Arabia for the last four months due to lock down.
