Image used for representational purpose onlyMYSURU: The state education department (primary education) formed an 11-member committee to recommend the guidelines to introduce online education for students studying in the classes between Class VI and X.
MK Sridhar, who was part of the New Education Policy (NEP) committee will head this committee. The committee is asked to prepare guidelines to introduce online education to students of various age groups studying between Class VI and X scientifically.
The committee is asked to submit its report in 10 days. DPI commissioner KG Jagadish confirmed the formation of the committee.
According to a notification issued by the government, the committee is asked to frame guidelines to offer technology-based teaching methods using mass media for the students studying between classes between LKG and Class V.
The committee is also asked to submit its feedback and frame guidelines on the alternative teaching methods to be adopted in this Covid pandemic period. It also asked to recommend ways to bridge the digital divide between students studying in the urban and rural areas and use of other mass media. The committee is also given the task of framing a teaching method which can be adopted in future when this kind of crisis erupts.
The members of the committee include well-known academician Gururaj Karajagi, Niranjanaradhya V. P. is the Fellow and Programme Head – Universalisation of Education at National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, Rishikesh BS of Azim Premji University, Director, NIMHANS, and others. MT Reju, state project director, Samagra Shikshana Karnataka will be the member secretary of the committee.
