Move up from the base Mustang EcoBoost and the EcoBoost Premium model offers a bit more in the way of features. The Premium option adds leather seats, the latest Sync 3 infotainment system, heated side mirrors, and selectable drive modes. Power doesn't change – this model still uses the same turbocharged 2.3-liter engine, good for 310 horsepower – but the price increases to $31,685 for the coupe and $37,185 for the convertible.

The most powerful four-cylinder Mustang is the EcoBoost High Performance pack. Though it has the same displacement as its base EcoBoost siblings, this model uses a retuned version of the Ford Focus RS engine, which produces a heartier 332 horsepower and 350 pound-feet. That means the Mustang can hit 60 miles per hour in just 4.5 seconds. The High Performance package is a $4,995 option on any EcoBoost model, coupe or convertible, and if you want the optional handling package on top of that (which we recommend), it's another $3,995. But you can get an EcoBoost HPP for as little as $31,665 (not including destination fees).

If it's horsepower you're after, the Mustang GT is the one to get. The pony car packs a 5.0-liter V8 good for 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet, and comes with the choice of either a slick six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic. Standard features include things like launch control, 18-inch wheels, and the latest Ford Sync infotainment system. The Mustang GT costs just $35,630 to start.

Though it packs the same 5.0-liter V8, the Mustang GT Premium gets more niceties over the base V8 model. Leather seats with heating and ventilation, heated side mirrors, selectable drive modes, and the latest Sync 3 infotainment system all come standard on the GT Premium model. The standard Mustang GT offers plenty of grunt, but adding the $5,195 GT Performance pack makes the muscle car even more capable. The pricey kit includes new 19-inch wheels, stickier tires, Brembo six-piston brakes, a new wing, a stiffer suspension, and more. The only thing that stays the same is the 5.0-liter V8, which still produces 460 horsepower and 420 pound-feet. You can get a base Mustang GT coupe with the Performance pack for $40,825 (before destination fees), and a Mustang GT Premium convertible with the Performance pack for $50,325.

An even more aggressive option on the Mustang GT is the available GT Performance pack 2. This kit adds different 19-inch wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, bigger Brembo brakes, and Ford’s MagneRide adaptive suspension with track tuning. It's available on both the base GT and the GT Premium. The option alone costs $6,500 atop the base Mustang GT and GT Premium, but it also requires you to add the $2,200 401A equipment group that includes things like a 12.0-inch digital instrument cluster and navigation.

If you want Shelby-grade handling with the GT’s V8, the newest Mustang Mach 1 might be the best choice. Packing a tweaked version of the Mustang's famous 5.0-liter, the limited edition produces 480 horsepower and 420 pound-feet. With various Shelby parts affixed, the Mach 1 has 22 percent more downforce than a GT Performance Pack 1, or with the optional handling package, a hearty 150 percent more downforce. The Mach 1 also gets standard Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (or optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s), larger brakes, new visual cues, and the option of either a Tremec six-speed manual from the GT350 or a 10-speed automatic. Ford hasn't released pricing for the new Mach 1 yet, but expect it to cost similar money to the Mustang Bullitt.

A tribute to the classic film of the same name, the Bullitt Mustang lives up to its legacy with a 5.0-liter V8 good for 480 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque, as well asa bevy of performance options. This Mustang gets trim-specific 19-inch wheels, big red Brembo stoppers, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and optional Recaro seats – and it costs just $47,705 for 2020. But hurry, the Bullitt Mustang won't be around for much longer.

Yes, we’re counting the Mach-E. Even though it’s not technically a Mustang by traditional standards, the electric crossover shares its name and badge with the iconic sports car. When it goes on sale later this year, the 2020 Mustang Mach-E will come solely in Premium trim before offering three different flavors in 2021: Select, California Route 1 Edition, and GT. The base Mustang Mach-E Select produces 255 horsepower and starts at $43,895, while the GT Performance model listed here produces 459 horsepower and costs an estimated $60,500.

The first of three Shelby Mustangs, the GT350 boasts a 5.2-liter flat-plane-crank V8 good for 526 horsepower and 429 pound-feet. But other upgrades make this one of the most race-focused Mustangs yet. Sporting a six-speed manual transmission exclusively, a track-tuned suspension, standard Recaro seats, and more, the Shelby GT350 can sprint to 60 miles per hour in just about 4.0 seconds. It costs $60,400 to start.

Even more track-focused than the base GT350 is the Shelby Mustang GT350R. It gets an adaptive MagneRide suspension, a six-speed manual, big Brembo brakes, an electronic line-lock feature, and more. The GT350R also gets one more horse in its stable than the base GT350 – 527, to be exact – and can sprint to 60 miles per hour in about 3.9 seconds. You will have to shell out significantly more, though; the Shelby Mustang GT350R costs $73,435.

The most powerful Mustang (though not the most expensive, the GT350R is still pricier) is the 2020 Shelby GT500. Packing a supercharged 5.2-liter V8, the pony car produces 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet. This means a sprint to 60 miles per hour in a ridiculous 3.3 seconds. But the massive power is matched by a considerable muscle car price tag of $72,900. And if you want to go all out, you can option the Carbon Fiber Track pack for $18,500, which adds carbon fiber wheels, splitters, and more.
