Coronavirus cases in India Latest Updates: Highest single-day spike of 11,929 new COVID-19 cases and 311 deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in the country now stands at 3,20,922 including 1,49,348 active cases, 1,62,379 cured/discharged/migrated, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s latest data on Sunday said. The death toll has reached 9,195.

Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan met Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday to discuss tackling of coronavirus pandemic in the national capital. After the meeting, Amit Shah announced that the Centre will provide all possible help to Delhi to fight crisis. The meeting was held two days after the Supreme Court slammed the government over “horrendous, horrific and pathetic” situation in the city. Meanwhile, the Indian Railways is preparing 500 coaches which will work as COVID-19 isolation and care centres. Delhi has recorded over 36,000 coronavirus cases and the death toll stands at 1,214.  However, the daily rise in the number of new patients and death toll are big concerns. Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat continue to be among the worst-hit states. In Maharashtra alone, the total number of cases is now over 1 lakh.

India has added 1 lakh cases in just 10 days. The country had recorded 2 lakh cases 10 days back and surpassed the 3-lakh mark today
