CHANDIGARH: Giving in to sustained pressure by various student bodies, the Haryana government has decided to conduct the examination of final semesters of all technical, graduation and undergraduate classes from July.
Haryana government has exempted students from other states from appearing in written tests due to non-availability of hostel accommodation and other stay arrangements in the wake of the pandemic.
NSUI to move court again
The Haryana unit president of National Students Union of India (NSUI), Divyanshu Budhiraja, said they will now file a petition again before the Punjab and Haryana high court to challenge the amended system.
"The examinations are being held at a time when infection is at its peak in Haryana. Secondly, we can understand the reason behind exemption for those living out of Haryana. If they can be exempted then what is the surety that the students from Haryana will be safe. This is a clear-cut violation of fundamental rights. We shall take this up again in the court,’’ he added.
Apart from staging agitations and submitting a memorandum to Haryana governor, the NSUI had earlier filed a petition in Punjab and Haryana high court.
