UK Government Losing Public Approval Over Handling of Virus | Less than a third of the public now approve of the government’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, according to the latest Opinion poll for the Observer. The poll found that approval of the government’s handling of the coronavirus crisis is down four points to a new low. Only three in 10 people approve government for its handling of the pandemic, reports The Guardian. 

101-Year-Old Coronavirus Patient Dies in Indore |  A 101-year-old man, who was among the oldest COVID-19 patients in the country, died at a private hospital in Madhya Pradesh's Indore city, the hospital authorities said.

3 More Persons Recover from Covid-19 in Meghalaya | Three more coronavirus-infected persons have been cured of the disease in Meghalaya, taking the total number of people recovered from the infection to 26 in the state, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said. 

UPDATE | France reported 24 new coronavirus deaths over the past 24 hours, taking the total to 29,398 and marking the fourth day with under 30 fatalities.

'Beijing Should Extend Nucleic Acid Testing' | Beijing should expand the scope of nucleic acid testing for the new coronavirus in and the scope of sampling in the Chinese capital, a city government spokesman said. He told a news conference Beijing has entered an “extraordinary period” after the city reported a record 36 confirmed new cases of the virus for Saturday.

UPDATE | Orders to set up 20,000 new COVID-19 beds in the national capital in the next one week. Hotels to have 4,000 beds, banquets halls to have 11,000 beds and nursing homes to have 5,000 beds, said the Delhi Government. 

New York State Witnesses Lowest Deaths Since Pandemic | New York state saw the lowest deaths since pandemic started, state Governor Andrew Cuomo announced in the US. And the lowest number of hospitalisations since late March.

Deaths Worldwide Pass 430,000 |  According to the Johns Hopkins University tracker, there have been 430,128 known coronavirus deaths worldwide since the start of the pandemic. The number of cases stands at 7,766,952. The true figures for deaths and cases are likely to be higher, due to differing definitions and testing rates, time lags and suspected underreporting.
