State records 41 new COVID cases

Panaji/Vasco : The state on Sunday recorded 41 new COVID positive cases, and 29 of these cases were reported at Mangor Hill, the containment  zone in Vasco.

A  medical bulletin issued by the director of health services said that 41 people tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic  in the last 24 hours, while reports of  305 samples of throat swabs are still awaited.

Out of 1967 throat swabs samples tested, 1621 samples tested negative for the deadly virus.

As per the current scenario in the state, there are 564 confirmed cases,  out of which 490 cases are active; 74 patients have recovered from the virus  after being treated at various

health facilities. 

Mangor Hill has seen 272 including the 29 cases reported on Sunday.  There  are 147 COVID positive cases linked to Mangor Hill.

Two cases have been  reported in Margao and Betim.  Quepem has also  reported  two  positive cases.

Major locations where cases have been found are New Vaddem (12), Morlem (17), Baina (24), Chimbel (11) and 13 in Headland Sada, Vasco.

Fifteen persons are  in isolation wards of health facilities, while  1110 people  have been placed quarantine at various residencies and  hotels in the state.

Six new positive cases of COVID-19 were reported in Headland Sada

on  Saturday.

Sources claimed  that two among the six persons who tested positive for COVID-19 are delivery boys of domestic LPG cylinders. One of the delivery boys has  links  with people from Mangor Hill.

The health authorities are now trying to locate the close contacts of the persons who tested positive.
