Maharashtra: Ambernath gets 500-bed Covid hospital ready within 20 days

AMBERNATH: The city of Ambernath has got a 500-bed Covid hospital set up in a dental college campus in the city. The hospital has been readied within 20 days with ventilator and oxygen bed facilities.
The city has reported 617 Covid-19 cases, including 19 death so far. Looking at the rise in Covid-19 cases, the Ambernath Municipal Council with help of businessmen and social workers from the city, has readied this hospital and it will be functional in two-three days.
The Covid-19 hospital has come up in the closed dental college situated in Chikhloli area.
Sources said that looking at the rising Covid-19 cases in Ambernath city, which has a population of around 3.5 lakh, the local Ambernath Municipal Council decided to set up new Covid-19 hospital for which MLA Dr Balaji Kinikar and Member of Parliament Dr Shrikant Shinde also took initiative.
Talking to TOI, MLA Dr Balaji Kinikar said, "Through this new hospital now Covid-19 patients from Ambernath will not have to go outside city in to different hospitals for treatment".
On Friday evening, Thane guardian minister Eknath Shinde also visited the hospital.
