
India Coronavirus Cases: The number of COVID-19 cases in India has been rising.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said Delhi will be given 500 railway coaches to address the shortage of beds for coronavirus patients and will also recieve central help to increase testing after a meeting with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
India's coronavirus tally rose to 3,20,922 cases today as it recorded the single-day biggest jump of 11,929 new infections in the last 24 hours and 311 deaths, the Union Health Ministry said this morning. A total of 9,195 COVID-19 patients have died so far, according to the government. This is the second consecutive day that India has recorded more than 11,000 new infections in one day.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with ministers and officials to review the country's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government said in a statement. They discussed the situation in the states and Union Territories, including Delhi, where coronavirus cases have been rising.

Forty-five more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Tripura, taking the tally in the northeastern state to 1,046 on Sunday, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said.
Sepahijala district reported 44 new cases, while West Tripura one. All the new patients have a travel history outside the state, he said.
"Out of 1860 samples tested for COVID19, more 45 people found positive in Tripura today. All of them have travel history. The count includes: Sepahijala District: 44 West District: 01," Mr Deb tweeted late on Saturday night.
Karnataka Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar on Sunday said there was no question of reimposition of the lockdown amid speculation that it would be done.
"The question of lockdown is not in front of us. There is such speculation as the Prime Minister is holding a video conference with all Chief Ministers on June 16 and 17. On June 17 our state will be taking part in it at around 3 pm," Mr Sudhakar was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
Speaking to reporters at Kalaburagi, he said the current situation would be discussed in that meeting.
