Gujarat Board GSEB HSC 12th Arts, Commerce Result 2020 LIVE Updates: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) declared the result of HSC class 12th Arts, Commerce examinations on Monday, June 15. A total of 3.7 lakh (3,71,771) students appeared in the exam out of which 2.83 lakh (2,83,624) haved passed the board exam. The pass percentage this year reached 76.29 per cent. The candidates can check the result through the official website- gseb.org.

Girls fair better than boys, while 82.20 per cent female students cleared the HSC exam successfully, the pass percentage of boys is 70.97 per cent. Patan is the best performing district with 86.27 per cent while the worst performing district is Panchmahal with 64.76 per cent of students from the region clearing the exam.

The evaluation process for the Gujarat Board exams was resumed in April-mid after being cancelled once due to the lockdown. Apart from the official website, the students can check result here by registering their name, roll number, and other details.

Banaskantha emerged as the best performing district with a passing percent of 85.66. It is followed by Surendranagar (80.72) and Surat (80.66). Top 5 districts: Banaskantha - 85.66% Surendranagar - 80.72% Surat - 80.66% Gandhinagar - 79.08% Devbhoomi - 77.91%

How many students score above 90%

As many as 522 students have got A1 grade; in the science stream, only 44 students had obtained this top-most grade

Pass percentage improves from last year

This year, the pass percentage has reached 76.29 per cent. This is a rise of 3.02 per cent from last year's 73.27 per cent. In the science result declared earlier, the pass percentage had declined marginally from 71.34 per cent in 2019 to 71.90 per cent this year.

Why pass percentage has not improve in recent years

The Gujarat Board SSC result pass percentage has not touched 70 per cent in recent years. Last year, not only the number of schools with 100 per cent pass percentage dropped as compared to 2018, but also, as many as 63 schools had no students clearing the class 10 Gujarat Board exams from them

71.34% clear HSC Science exam this year

A total of 71.34 per cent students cleared HSC Science examination this year. The boys fair better than girls, while 71.69 per cent male students cleared the examination, the pass percentage of female students stands at 70.85 per cent.

Qualifying marks to clear HSC exam

To qualify in a subject, a candidate must obtain a minimum of grade ‘D’ To be eligible for higher Secondary Certificate, a candidate must obtain minimum of grade ‘D’ in all subjects. Those candidates who have obtained grade ‘E1’ or ‘E2’ in the subjects of External Examination shall have to improve their performance through subsequent attempts and qualify

Gujarat Board GSEB HSC Class 12th Result 2020 LIVE UPDATES: Candidates need to keep their admit card handy. Students will have to enter their board exam roll number to check the result. Further, candidates will have to keep the print out of the result with them. This will act as a provisional mark sheet until the official mark sheets are released.

As per rules, to pass the exam, students will have to score at least a D grade in every subject as well as overall. Those who score E grade will have to appear for supplementary exams.
