Home Minister Amit Shah calls all-party meeting to discuss Delhi's handling of coronavirus

This meeting will be held at the Ministry of Home Affairs at 11 AM on June 15.

Home Minister Amit Shah has called an all-party meeting at 11 AM on Monday, June 15. This meeting will be held at the Ministry of Home Affairs and will be attended by leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Congress and the Bahujan Samaj Party.

An invitation in this regard has been sent to the President and Secretary of the BJP, AAP, INC, BSP along with the Secretary of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the Chief Secretary of Delhi and the Principal Secretary (Health) of the government of Delhi.

The Union Home Minister also held two meetings on Sunday in this regard.

On Wednesday, the first meeting was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi's Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, and Health Minister Satyendar Jain along with Lt Governor Anil Baijal. Also present at this meeting were Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Health Secretary Preeti Sudan and Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash among others.

The second meeting was attended by the Dehli CM and LG, the Union Health Minister and among others the mayors of North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC), South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), and East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC).

Going by inputs, the purpose of these meetings is to formulate a strategy to effectively tackle the novel coronavirus outbreak in the national capital where confirmed cases stand at 38,958 as per the Delhi Health Department's daily COVID update on June 14.
