19 test positive after attending funeral of Covid victim in Sangareddy district

HYDERABAD: As many as 19 people who attended the funeral of a Covid-19 positive patient who died in Sangareddy district have tested positive. After they had attended the funeral, 22 people who were placed in isolation and their swab samples were sent to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad. The reports of 19 people were found positive. The entire Shantinagar area in Zaheerabad where they were residing has been declared a red zone. Health check ups are being conducted in the 350 households by the authorities.
On June 9, a woman had died of Covid and the last rites were performed on June 10. All those who tested positive had attended the funeral rites.
A person of Kishtayyapalli village in Gaddapotharam mandal of Jinnaram district also died of Covid19 in Hyderabad. He was in the village engaged in agricultural work and had gone to Hyderabad where he died. When a Covid test was done after he died, it became known that he was positive. The family members of the victim have been sent for quarantine and medical check ups are being done in this village too.
