The Union Home Ministry clarified on Friday that the nighttime curfew of nine o'clock in the morning from 5 o'clock in the country is to curb the movement of people, but during this time there is no restriction on the operation of passenger buses and luggage trucks on the highways.
In a letter sent to all states and union territories, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla also said that the basic objective of stopping the movement of people at night is to prevent people from moving in groups or groups and to ensure social distance.
However, this rule should not disrupt the supply of essential goods.
He said that the Ministry of Home Affairs had issued guidelines regarding the ban on the movement of people from 9 am to 5 am, excluding essential services.
The ministry has come to know that some states and union territories are also stopping people, trucks, and buses passing through highways during this period. Guidelines issued by the government do not apply to load and unloading of goods, buses carrying trucks and vehicles carrying goods.
In such a situation, all the states and union territories are advised not to stop them. Necessary instructions should be issued to the district and local authorities in this regard.
