Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has also directed officials to allow mining work to start in earnest as that would ensure that while the state earns royalty, raw material for construction work like gravel, sand, bricks will be available easily in the market and because of that, their prices will be kept in check.
The CM's focus is now on strengthening economic activity while ensuring that the 30 lakh-odd work force that has returned to the state during the lockdown can be gainfully employed, said additional chief secretary, home, Awanish Awasthi, adding that the government is now looking to speed up work in order to make up for the delay caused to projects by the lockdown.
"The CM said that whereever construction work starts, labourer and construction workers will be required. In fact, the focus of restarting economic activity should be to ensure that maximum workers get employment. The CM recently inspected the Basti, Gorakhpur, Azamgarh and Varanasi divisions and will be visiting other divisions as well in the coming days," Awasthi said. The CM has directed officials to survey industrial units to find out if they are facing difficulty in restarting operations.
