Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has allotted 50 segways for patrolling the Mumbai Police on Thursday. These self-balanced electric scooters will be used by the police to quickly and easily reach different and congested areas.
According to the Home Minister, initially, 10 Segway Worli and five Segway are deployed at Nariman Point. Apart from this, their deployment is also being considered in Bandra, Juhu, and Versova.
According to police officials, with the help of this two-wheeled automatic scooter, policemen will patrol crowded areas, their masks will also have a public announcement system through which they will be able to talk to the public.
The Home Minister said, "Along with security in this round of corona epidemic, they will also monitor social distancing and also make people aware of the matter.
