PM Modi to hold meeting with States, Union Territories on June 16-17

Amid ‘Unlock 1.0,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called a meeting of States’ Chief Ministers and Union Territories’ Lieutenant Governor/Administrators on June 16 and 17.

This will be sixth meeting after Covid-19 pandemic started its spread in the country.

“PM @narendramodi will interact with state Chief Ministers on the 16th and 17th,” a tweet from the Prime Minister office posted on the micro blogging late in the evening on Friday read. This meeting is taking at a time when India’s case count crossed the 3,00,000 mark while number of deaths stood now over 8700. Rate of doubling is now 17.4 days and peak is yet to be seen.

The meeting will take place over two days. On day one he will hold talk with Chief Ministers/ Lieutenant Governor/Administrators of Punjab, Assam, Kerala, U'khand, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Tripura, Himachal, Chandigarh, Goa, Manipur, Nagaland, Ladakh, Puducherry, Arunachal, Meghalaya, Mizoram, A&N Islands, Dadar Nagar Haveli & Dama Diu, Sikkim and Lakshadweep.

On day 2, he will hold discussion will be with the States and Union Territories of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu-Kashmir, Telangana and Odisha. These 15 states have reported sizeable number of positive cases and deaths.
