HYDERABAD: An elderly woman who went missing in 2018 was traced in Vijayawada and reunited with her family in Chandrayangutta.
The missing woman, Nazeerunisa Begum, who was a mental health patient left home without intimating anyone in December 2018. "A missing case was registered, but she could not be traced. Later the case was closed as 'undetected'," said John Paul, a cop from Chandrayangutta.
According to police, Nazeerunisa who was found by two nuns, Sister Silvina and Sister Elvin at Vijayawada bus stop and for two years they took care of the missing woman.
"Nazeerunisa doesn't remember how she landed in Vijayawada. The sister arranged treatment through a charity trust and recently the victim was able to remember and recognise her native place," added the officer. The sisters reached out to cops and Nazeerunisa was reunited with her family on Saturday.
