Top IIT colleges in India - rank wise
According to the NIRF rankings, the top three engineering colleges in the country are IIT Madras, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay.

NEW DELHI: The National Indian Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings were announced by Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank', Minister of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
IIT Madras, IISc Bengaluru and IIT Delhi bagged the top three positions among the higher educational institutions in the country.
Seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) figured in the top 10 in the overall rankings -- IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee.
According to the rankings, the top three engineering colleges in the country are IIT Madras, IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay.
The annual rankings are usually announced in April but had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Two Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) -- Delhi and Bombay -- and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru have maintained their positions in the top 200 in the QS World University Rankings despite losing some points.
The QS rankings is the second consecutive international list where Indian universities have fared poorly compared to 2019. Last week, the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University rankings also showed that Indian institutes have slipped in their standings.
The MHRD-NIRF ranking is based broadly on five parameters, namely 1) Teaching and Learning Resources, 2) Graduation Outcome, 3) Perception, 4) Outreach and Inclusivity and 5) Research and Professional Practice.
