911 Turbo S

The 992 iteration of the Porsche 911 Turbo S will reach 330km/h. Its 3.8-litre engine features a pair of VGT turbochargers produces 51kW more than its predecessor to peak at a dizzying 478kW and 800Nm, 50Nm more than before.

On sale since May, the Coupé and Cabriolet are priced at R3 771 000 and R3 956 000, respectively. Included in the price is a three-year or 100 000km Driveplan.

The team at the Press Association put together a nifty video on Zuffenhausen's sports car zooming around some of Europe's best roads.

The numbers related to the Turbo S are insane, fitted with a eight-speed PDK transmission it'll knock 100km/h out of the park in 2.7 seconds. More impressive is that it'll hit 200km/h in under nine seconds from standstill.

The all-wheel drive system is key to ensuring traction is kept at optimum levels. The car sits on a track that's 42mm wider at the front axle and 10mm wider at the rear.

"No other sports car reacts to different situations with such aerodynamic flexibility as the new Turbo S," says Dr Thomas Wiegand, in charge of Porsche's aerodynamics development.

Notice that large rear wing? It plays a major role in allowing for various settings and configurations and creates more downforce than ever before, Porsche says.
